Dear Participants,
It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the 24th annual session of the Amman International Model United Nations (AMMUN XXIV), taking place from Wednesday, November 12 to Sunday, November 16, 2025, at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Amman, Jordan.
AMMUN is more than just a conference — it’s a space for honest dialogue, sharp thinking, and the kind of learning that extends far beyond the classroom. Year after year, we see students enter as hesitant speakers and leave as confident, engaged global citizens. This growth is never accidental — it is born from the challenging, sometimes uncomfortable, yet profoundly meaningful process of listening, deliberating, and understanding.
This year’s theme, “Deliberate to Liberate,” resonates deeply with the times we live in. The world around us feels increasingly divided — by nations, ideologies, and even within our own communities. But raising our voices isn’t enough. True progress begins when we pause, listen with intention, and seek understanding — even amidst disagreement.
Deliberation is not about winning an argument; it’s about engaging sincerely, embracing compromise, and finding shared ground. Only through that process can we move closer to something greater — liberation from fear, conflict, and injustice.
At AMMUN XXIV, we challenge our delegates not only to think critically, but to listen generously — to question assumptions, embrace nuance, and confront complexity rather than avoid it. These are not easy tasks, but they are the foundation of diplomacy and leadership.
Our Secretary-General, Zaid Arafah, and the entire Secretariat have worked tirelessly to design a conference that both challenges and inspires. I would also like to extend my gratitude to the educators and MUN directors — both in Jordan and abroad — whose faith in youth-led diplomacy continues to sustain and strengthen AMMUN’s mission.
