Dear participants of AMMUN XXV,

It is my pleasure to welcome you all to Jordan on behalf of the AMMUN XXV Leadership Team and the Amman Baccalaureate School (ABS). Jordan is a country known for its rich history and vibrant culture — home to landmarks such as Petra, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, and the Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth.

Established in 1981, ABS was the first school in Jordan to offer the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme. Over the years, ABS has grown into one of the region’s leading educational institutions, dedicated to delivering a high-quality education while developing strong character and instilling values.

The Amman Model United Nations is one of seven THIMUN-affiliated conferences in the Middle East, and the only one in Jordan. AMMUN was the first Jordanian conference to bring together both local and international delegates, uniting passionate advocates from all over the world. AMMUN XXV feels especially meaningful because it represents both legacy and change. Our Silver Jubilee reflects twenty-five years of dedication, leadership, and student contribution, whilst reminding us that every new session has the opportunity to leave its own lasting impact.

The conference will take place over five days, beginning with an Opening Dinner and Welcome Reception, followed by an excursion to Petra, a day of Lobbying and Merging at ABS, and two debate days at the Grand Hyatt Amman.

The Leadership Team of AMMUN XXV is proud to announce that this year’s theme is ‘Moderating Morality.’ Our theme reflects the complexity of balancing ethics, culture, politics, and responsibility in international decision-making, encouraging delegates to question how morality is shaped and applied in a world where perspectives often conflict.

What I hope delegates take away from AMMUN XXV is not simply improved speaking or debating skills, but a broader understanding of the importance of empathy and open-mindedness within diplomacy. I hope delegates leave remembering conversations that challenged their thinking, moments that pushed them outside their comfort zones, and the realisation that leadership is often rooted in the ability to listen just as much as the ability to speak.

We are also excited to announce that we will be offering eleven different committees this year, which can be found under the ‘Forums’ section of our website. In addition, AMMUN XXV will be accepting applications for Student Officer positions from both international and local students. The application form, to be submitted by 20 August 2026, can be found under ‘Registration’ followed by ‘Student Officer Application.’

During the conference — taking place between 18 and 22 November 2026 — you will experience the beauty of Jordan, enjoy delicious cuisine, discover the warmth of Jordanian hospitality, and engage in productive and enjoyable debate. AMMUN offers a unique programme which ensures that everyone can share their passion for debate, engage with new topics, and have fun whilst doing so.
